I was gonna say £150 was a good price, so go for it!

    Good stuff!
  • Be very careful about updating to Lollipop software its really shafted my nexus 2012.
I dont know if the 2013 nexus is as bad just google nexus lollipop problems and you'll see why.
I'm hoping google will do another update soon

I reverted mine back to KitKat due to the Lollipop problems pretty much bricking my Nexus 7 (2012).

Doesn't even seem to be any hope of a cure whilst Android have pointed a finger firmly at Google and said it's their problem.
  • You can get a refurb Nexus 7 through groupon for just £50 currently.
  • If your nexus no longer plays videos after the lollipop update (mine didn't :( ) you can 'fix' it by disabling the NU player in developer options until a OTA fix is released. Now it works great.

Cheap that may well be, but not when they sell you extended warranty and a bunch of accessories at double the price you'd pay elsewhere.

I've got a Nexus7 2012 for hacking about on, and yes, Lollipop ground it to almost a halt. Had a look at solutions online, and decided that the fastest one was the simplest - do a factory reset.
Works great now. If you haven't done this before, after a factory reset you log in again with your Google account, and all your apps will be restored. Even your WiFi passwords are restored so you don't have to type them all in again.
There's a bit of hassle reorganising your home screen icons and stuff, and you'll lose some data (important things like Angry Birds high scores!) but so much stuff is synced with the cloud now that it really isn't much hassle. As long as you have a fast net connection.

OR you could take the drugs approach and Just Say No!. ;)

Got the 2013 model for £150 from argos, pc world sold out.

When its out of the box is there any way to decline the major software updates or is it pushed / forced on you?

I am more than happy for it to run out of the box as is without upgrading bloaty software updates.
