Clydesdale business to rbs account

Hi guys. I am due money back from a gardiner who has his business account with clydesdale. He has told me that he has transferred the money and it takes 2-3 days. This was on Tuesday.

I queried why not faster payment which is same day and he said this method is cheaper. From speaking to clydesdale they were as good as useless but said this could potentially be true what he is saying.

Is anyone familiar with this means of transfer specific to certain clydesdale accounts?

It's a BACS transfer by the sounds of it.

Still perfectly valid and should credit 3 working days after being sent.

Would that be the day it was sent +3? It was sent on Tuesday 3:30pm?

If it was sent on Tuesday before 3.30 I would expect it to arrive on Thursday, if after 3.30, it could be Friday but it depends on the Clydesdale cut off time.

Many larger business type accounts still use BACS for reasons that are not worth going into here, and that isn't unique to Clydesdale - however I would expect any small business to use faster payments.
