audi A4 radio reset

Assuming it's the same model of Concert that was used in the W-reg Audi TT, this is what the manual says:
"Switch on the radio - the word SAFE will appear in the digital display.
Press the buttons TP and RDS at the same time, and hold until 1000 appears in the display. Then release both buttons. DO NOT press the TP or RDS buttons again or hold them down, otherwise "1000" will be registered as a first attempt to enter the code number, and you will only have one more chance to repeat the procedure.
Using the station selector buttons 1-4, enter the code number given on the radio card. Use button 1 to enter the first digit of the code number, button 2 to enter the second digit, and so on. Station selector buttons 5 and 6 cannot be used.
Then press the buttons TP and RDS again at the same time, and hold until the word SAFE appears in the display.
Release both buttons. A radio frequency will then appear automatically in the display after a short delay. The radio is now ready for use."
If you try twice with the incorrect code, the radio is disabled for about an hour, then you can try again.0 -
thsnk you in my atemps to put the code in ive locked it ive waited an hour but still cant do it.ive read that if i leave the ignition on for an hour and the radio in safe mode that will unblock it i willltry this later today i cant wait to sit in the car all that time.
thanks again hyltonlad0 -
All it says is that the radio will be disabled for about an hour and "After this period (the radio must be left switched on and the ignition key left in the lock) the number of unsuccessful attempts shown in the display will go out, and the radio can be reactivated again as described above".
Doesn't mention leaving the ignition on, and I probably wouldn't do that for any great period of time, just says with the key left in.0 -
