read it again belfast child, you may be charged £5.00 for a debit card payment of £2.oo but you will also be charged £25.00 for using the "instant overdraft" within that month.Total minimum charge for going overdrawn is £30!!!! It is worse than before.They are charging us more and renaming it.

but before i would have been charged £30 cleared transaction charge (regardless of amount of transaction) and £20 unauth od fee. total £50

Then what would stop people from having unauthorised overdrafts if there was no penalty for going over the agreed limit?

Better stick to machines you know are free ie outside bank buildings and big supermarkets.

Just to say that my local WHSmith has a cash machine which doesn't charge for the service.
