Have I been hacked?

A few minutes ago I was merrily entering competitions, as usual. When I clicked on a link to a Women's Weekly competition, I got the message "you have been hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army".
Does this mean I have been hacked? If so, any tips what I need to do?
Thanks

I am brave, I am bruised
I am who I'm meant to be
I'm not scared to be seen
I make no apology

99.99% no. The site you were on has been hacked - they've just delivered a pop up to you through the ad network system.
Most probably you're absolutely fine. They've done this to a lot of websites this morning.0 -
Not necessarily.
Was it an advert or pop up advert in the internet browser?
Do you have virus checker and firewall in place?

It seems its the websites themselves which have been hacked and the messages originate from there (rather than you machine).0 -
Not necessarily.

It's worth remembering this kind of episode the next time someone says 'I don't surf dodgy websites so I don't need computer security software' or something on those lines.0
