    That would be the easiest and cheapest option and if/when the kettle goes pop you can pickup a replacement for £5 ;)

    Hi Relbs - is the electric shower (over the bath) next to the bathroom sink ?
    If so, you could do what I do, easily, just turn on the shower, then hold the showerhead over the basin -
    I get plenty enough hot water that way for a shave, perhaps your mum could try that out !!
    Sure, it may be at peak rate, but only for half a minute or less, but
    the wiring in my property switches EVERYTHING over to E7 rates (6p with EDF)
    so she could always wait till midnight to wash to save more :)
