Sky TV Installation Question

I currently have freesat (No aerial) set up in my lounge and a link TV cable that goes up to my bedroom above which means I can view the Freesat up there but if my DD is watching her programmes it means I have to too!!
So am I right in thinking if I get them to leave all other cables and set up sky into my bedroom I can then at some point swap the sky down to my lounge and put the freesat box into my bedroom, I can then view both if I want and watch separate TV in each room. I have a sky eye knocking around can this still be used?

Yes but perhaps not Sky+.
Sky+ (with ability to record TV watch a different channel) needs 2 wires from the satellite. If Sky installers put Sky+ into your bedroom (with 2 wires) and then later you swap the boxes over, then the extra Sky+ features wont work downstairs.
EDIT: But they should be able to do it all from the 1 dish.
If you just want freesat in the bedroom, have local satellite guy run another cable from the dish to your bedroom and you buy a generic box (he'll have to do a small upgrade on the dish).0 -

There is no reason for them to be pulling out cables.
As for the magic eye, just make sure the cable is on the powered socket. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Thanks, I have figured out I can use my Triax Tri Link
to connect both freesat and sky to it. Sky HD can be connected by scart job done I believe :hello:"Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is knowing it doesn't go in a fruit salad

It may be able to be connected but it won't be in HD...0
