I think the closure was for one of two reasons:

1. There was a list of MSE entrants being maintained by some users, so there had been exchange of personal details, which is against the forum rules.

2. I presume Kiss FM call names out rather than contact the winners directly because they know a lot of people won't hear their name and will miss out, which stops them having to give too many prizes away. Perhaps MSE wants to play fair and so doesn't want to have a thread of names which is working a way around this.

More likely the first one because I read that such threads were OK in previous years.

Skilos, i think that point 1 may be correct but it seems odd to me. The first post clearly stated that you shouldn’t be putting your own personal contact details in there… maybe they think that putting any ones full name down on the forums falls under this section of the rules.



Would be nice if the mod that closed the post down put a note as to why this was being done….

Simply speaking - adding people's names which are announced 'publicly' on a national radio station is not breaking mse rules. FB announce names all the time and these are constantly updated in the FB winners thread in CCC.

So, down to the content of the posts, well there was some nice banter which is exactly what goes on in The Comper's Inn ALL THE TIME, so it's not that..

Hmmm - I agree Free_is_the_magic_number it would be nice to know why the ccc thread was locked (and will no doubt be removed) but more importantly why the latest live comp thread for Kissmas was also removed (there was definitely nothing written in there to break any rules!)

Read into it what you will - it just saddens me that's all

PMSL - MSE better close down the entire comping forum then cos every comp that is posted gives everyone here an 'unfair advantage' !! :rotfl:
