Choosing a new tarrif

Hi guys, I have had an email from Scottish Power telling me that my existing tariff is coming to an end, and giving me a choice of other tariffs. The ones they recommend are below. I have never been very knowledgable on energy tariffs, and never normally shop around. Is the cheaper tariff below the best one to go with out of these 2? All I can see different is the end dates. I don't want to change company as I am a tenant, so don't own my house.

Thanks

You need real prices not estimates .
How much is the tariff cost Kwh and standing charges .

Why not choose from the entire market? What is special about Spanish Power? What has being a tenant got to do with anything?

Take your postcode and your expected annual usage in kWhs to a comparison site and have a look at the range of prices.

Be careful with comparison sites and check the figures yourself. As I posted on another thread, I'm on the SP Nov 2015 tariff and the comparison sites say the Jan 2016 tariff is cheaper. Manual calculation based on my average usage confirms this is correct.

But the Jan 2016 has higher unit costs and lower standing charge. So although the Jan 2016 tariff is cheaper for my average usage, on my winter usage it's more expensive! So I'll be sticking with the Nov 2015 tariff till the spring.

So watch out for this as well. Just because a tariff is cheaper based on your average usage (which all the comparison sites use AFAIK), it may be more expensive in the winter (or summer).
