Morning all,
Ruby, lots of love and hugs,I was so sorry to read about Little Dog.You're right about the house feeling empty,I remember it when we had to have Leo put to sleep last year & its horrible x
Sistercas, hope you are all doing ok,hope DD enjoys her 21st when she does celebrate.
Spoke to DB2 last night about presents for the DGC,we only buy for them now & not each other so got ideas now.He mentioned C day, they have come to us for a long time, but knows I am struggling with the oven in this rented house, the door doesnt seem completely closed to me and things seem to catch on 1 side.(I made a Christmas cake yesterday and I'm not really happy with it)He mentioned us all going out to an Indian near them for a change,or them staying at home this year. They have a tiny kitchen and couldnt cope with us lot really.I mentioned the curry idea to DH after and he wasnt happy with that idea, and other places charge the earth so I'm still thinking what to do.
Tru- hope you get your bedroom sorted, ours is the same & hope your hip settles down again.
I have a pile of ironing to do that I intended to do yesterday afternoon but I had to take up the hem on DGDs angel costume for the playgroup nativity as they are going to have a dress rehearsal soon
Better crack on then, hope you all have the best day you can x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

It is a horrible day here. Wet. and murky but npt as cold as it has been.
I don't need to go out today, so I have just baked some no flour biscuits, a recipe I found on a blog and they are delicious.
I am going to clean the cooker when they have finished baking. It is a bit of a faff because I have to unscrew the glass door of the oven and the grill. I always ask Himself to do that because i am frightened of the glass door dropping on to the floor.
Himself, as we speak (or read) is hoovering upstairs. The guest bedroom looks like Santas' Grotto at the moment, but I have no where else to put the prsents, and I have made 6 hampers so they take up a bit of room.
Sending hugs to RR and Sistercas, difficult times for both of you.
Carol good to see you back safe and sound
Love to you all

Good morning! Hope everyone is well. I am making two smaller Christmas cakes today to give as presents. Off into town in a minute to have a wander round the market, get bread at the bakery, collect a library book and hand in a questionnaire about the local plan. Quite foggy here but much milder.
Have been tidying my freezer a bit trying to create some space, got rid of some very elderly (opened) puff pastry and vol au vent cases. There's a bit more space now, although a couple of unidentified tubs that I need to investigate still lurking.0 -
Just put the little man to bed for a nap and thought I'd hop on here.
Ordered my new wheelie bin from the council. Apparently it does happen some times that they drop into the truck. Trust it to happen to me.
Candlelight 2013 I sympathise about your bedroom looking like Santas grotto. Ive got my bits and pieced stuffed in the wardrobe. Thing is I cant find my shoes without emptying it of carrier bags stuffed with pressies. Mainly bits and pieces for our Grandbaby and odds and sods for his family. 'He Who Works' decided to buy his family gifts this year.
Talking about 'He Who Works'. He's got work coming out of his ears. He's working Saturday and Sundays till further notice.

Judi, Himself used to work weekends before he retired. On the whole I quite enjoyed it, because I was still working so the weekends were my time to catch up on the housework. Some times it was a pain, because if we were invited anywhere I never could tell them until just before the time whether we could sttend or not.. In the end I just used to say he was working when the invite came
Grandbaby looks gorgeous as usual, you must love having him, although I know it is tiring. We have no babies now, our grandchildren are all grown up.

I'm better with babies if I'm honest. When Soldier comes over from South Africa I will breaking out in hot sweats. He's a very rough and tumble sort of boy and only my eldest was like that. Its been a lot of years since then.....He's 33 now. I hope I can cope! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Redruby so sorry to hear about little dog you did everything that you could for her (((Hugs)))
JackieO I saw that poor young man had died, he was the same age as DD, I really feel for his poor family to lose him to a freak accident like that
Started off really foggy this morning, but brightened up a bit this afternoon, I put some washing on the line, but it didn't dry, so it is sitting on the airers.
Went shopping at Aldi and got our £10 off, we got a second DM because the coupon doesn't run out until next Thursday nightso we will have another £10 next week :jThen we bought the Sun and got the £5 fruit and veg coupon and then burger me if FIL didn't just phone to say he had saved his coupon for us so that will be another £30 in the coupon pot :j:j:j
sistercas Happy birthday to your DD
Got the letter from physio to ring for an appointment, only to get the news that they are now booking for January but the booking list isn't up until next week and I still haven't had the appointment through to go back to see the surgeon which is supposed to be in January
Then I phoned for a podiatry appointment and the same thing, their booking list isn't ready so i have to phone them back next week as well
To top it all I got a phonecall from the GP surgery to ask why I haven't had a flu jab, I told them because it is next to useless and I don't react well to it, so she just put down refused on my notes.

Hugs to RosyRed for Little Dog xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
