Does anyone know anything about these jokers?

For some reason they seem to think that their 49.9% APR should have me beating a path to their door!

The thing is that my credit score is pretty healthy (I think) as I don't use my overdraft, pay my other credit cards off each month and so the only outstanding debt is my mortgage. I have a Sainsbury's credit card and they just upped my limit without even asking and Bank of Scotland approved my application for the card where they offer 0% on purchases until May 2016!

Therefore I don't think I need Aqua's offer of starting my 'credit building journey' with them. It's as though they want me in debt.

I won't apply for it, but I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has any experiences of them eg. is it easy to find out who sold my details to them?

Thanks in advance. :)

    Yes lots!

Read my horrendous experience in the existing Aqua thread here:

    They are best avoided.

    Experian can sell your information?

Can that be opted out of?

    Thanks, I'll take a look. :)

I also had one of their unmissable offers the other day. Also have no idea why I was targeted. Made sure I sent back all the paperwork with NO THANKS scrawled all over it.

Had to laugh at the envelope; big PRIORITY printed on the front but only second class postage.

I tend to include a few offers of my own before posting the envelope back...eg. flyers for the local Indian takeaway and so on ;)
  • They are excellent and provide a good way of Credit Building
As with all Credit Cards unless you have a 0 % deal, the apr is irrelevant so long as you pay your balance in full each month within the allotted time and never ever take money out of the cash machine with them.

APRs are irrelevant if you pay your balance in full each month. 5% of £0 left after you have paid balance and 500% of £0 are both £0. If you do pay in full always look for what the card can give/earn you.

As for how they get details, the electoral is a source of information for many companies. The government sells our details on hence the full and edited registers.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

That's partly my point as I don't see why they think my credit score needs help.
