security tag on boots.

When I worked in a large department store I often heard about members of staff having to travel to customers homes to remove tags as they lived 100 miles away and weren't willing to bring the item back to the store.
If you go back to Tesco, explain that you made a special trip to do the tag removal, they may offer a goodwill refund/giftcard.0 -
Hi all,
Rather strange query so not sure where to post this.
Just got back after doing the weekly shop at Mr. T. Bought a pair of boots along with the groceries. Going out later and want to wear them so very cross to find out that the cashier hasn't removed the security tag!!!! It's attached to the thing that pulls the zip up. Is there any way of getting it off or will I have to wear something else and trail back to Tesco at the weekend?
Also why didn't the tag make the security buzzer go off when I came out of the shop so I would have known that the tag was still on before coming home.
Pouring with rain so I hope I can get the tag off so many thanks to anyone who can help. kje.
Take them back to any of Mr T's stores with a valid proof of purchase and I'm sure they will remove it for you0 -

Indeed,
I used to work in the accounts department at a large retailer and I was amazed by our employees expense submissions, just how many of our customers apparently live in Australia or the USA, or Magaluf around July/August or Switzerland in January.

Now I'm no expert of in store security systems & alarms, but perhaps the JL one was turned off or otherwise not working that day?
Or how's this for a conspiracy theory?
Superdrug have a unique in-store security system that is only activated by their own security tags.
The item you bought was originally on sale at Superdrug (perhaps it was a special purchase?). Some tea-leaf stole it and from Superdrug and then went to JL to see what else they could snaffle. Unfortunately they got rumbled by JL security guards and legged it, dropping everything they had in their hands.
Coincidentally, JL also sells that exact same line of cardi's, and didn't realise what the cardi the tea leaf dropped as they made their quick exit was originally from Superdrug, so they just put it back on the rail.
That's the cardi you now have.
Might have happened. :rotfl:0 -
