Barclaycard Fraud or Data Loss?

I received a call from Barclaycard today and the computer generated voice despite not being able to pronounce my name correctly told me that my card may have been compromised and that it was being cancelled and a new card issued which will be with me within 5 working days. As I wanted to know why I stayed on the line for a real person to explain why.
The first thing they ask me is to confirm my name, why do I need to do that they called me. I was suspicious at this point so told them I was not prepared to answer their questions without them confirming who they are.
So I called their customer services nuimber 01604 230230, got another annoying mechanical voice (Where have all the real people gone?) finally got through to a real voice who transferered me to the Fraud department. I think I ended up speaking with the same person.
He repeated the automated voice message. When i asked for more details. he seemed rather vague about what fraud had taken place but seemed to suggest there was a possible data loss at Visa and as a precaution they were cancelling cards and reissuing replacements (new number etc)
Has anyone else had this today?
