JD Parking PCN in Leeds - help?

Hello,
First off - yes I have read the Newbies sticky (it's brilliant). However, I still need advice on something that isn't covered in the sticky.
I parked my car at Hobby Horse (a pub off Lovell Park Road which is boarded up) and got a PCN. There are notices around the car park and I assumed they were from when the pub was open... but that's not important.
First thing I did was ring JD Parking and asked about getting a permit for that location. They couldn't answer my query there and then, so said they would call me back (funnily enough, they haven't). I didn't tell them I had received a PCN, but they do have my name and telephone number. No car details.
It says on the sticky:
..am I still ok to go ahead with trying to appeal/not pay? If I pay within 14 days it's only £60, over that it's £100... so kinda panicking...
Thank you all!

You've read the NEWBIES sticky and you still think you might need to pay?
Use the initial appeal from the sticky (in post #1) - don't be seduced/fooled by their 'kind' discount offer/bribe.
Only sixty quid for 'breaking' some petty fogging rule? Send it to me if you're going to send it to anyone, I'll be forever grateful for your [STRIKE]gullibility[/STRIKE] kindness. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

And when you've read and taken in the Newbies info, you'll realise that you wait for the NtK (should come 29 - 56 days after the windscreen ticket) then send the template.
If you don't get a NtK then send the template, as suggested by Umkomaas, on day 22.0 -
So you both think that it doesn't matter if I have already spoken to JD Parking Consultants, and they know my name and contact number?
(also, I really don't appreciate the sarcasm. Fair enough that you two know what you're talking about and are sick of newbies coming in trying to understand what it's all about... but I've never done anything like this before and if I mess it up and lose then I'll have to pay a lot more than £60 or £100. So sarcasm isn't going to help. If anything, it's going to make me feel less confident about appealing/complaining).
Again, for the record, I have read the sticky and know what I need to do. My main concern was the fact I have rung the company... which both of you have ignored completely...
Thanks for the support.0 -
It doesn't matter. There are various reasons why we say don't ring them but they are all related to having received one of their fake fines. You effectively rang them about a different matter, so I don't see there's any harm done. You should simply get on with following the steps set out in the Newbies thread.
I'm not surprised they didn't know anything about permits. They're not interested in facilitating parking, they just want to extract £100 from as many people a possible.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Just a quick one:
Currently amending the Letter Template from the Newbies thread (don't worry - I'm the KEEPER, not the driver. It's just so it's sounds more like I'm writing it).
On their website, JD Parking ask for the following for an appeal:
Please include the following information PCN DATE:
PCN/TICKET NUMBER:
VEHICLE REGISTRATION MARK (VRM):
VEHICLE MAKE/MODEL:
Our reference number:
NAME:
ADDRESS:
CONTACT NUMBER:
Reason for your appeal:
Scanned copies of any supporting documentation:
...how much information do I ACTUALLY have to put? I'm guessing address/PCN number...0 -
All of it, why not? They are not asking for the driver's details so the keeper can supply all of that info. No scans though, life's too short!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
