Ok, I've obviously been out of the loop on the whole MESH thing but having spent last night doing some research, I think you may have saved me some trouble there. I'm willing to give most companies a go but on balance, MESH appear to be too big a risk to take at the moment.
My policy tends to be to warn people of a company if I've had a particularly bad experience. Having a problem isn't all that important if it's resolved well and may even make me sing a company's praises. But in the case of Mesh I couldn't even put it down to being a single unfortunate incident as it was EVERY single contact, action (or lack of) employee (which over a six month period of sortimng out what was originally just a graphics card replacement was a lot) were atrocious. Each incident would put me off but it was the whole catalogue of them that indicates I can't just be a one off and it's indicative of the company as a whole."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I should clarify that when i said built i was talking rubbish, i had just selected one of their systems and clicked on upgrades, they build it and include some software(anti virus and the like) so you needn't worry about building it yourself(which isn't too hard apparently) I considered self building also but it was actually costing me around the same as getting them to build it so i've decided to just let them do it and will be ordering soon.Bought, not Brought0

Building yourself nowadays isn't really cheaper (if it's a decent spec) than getting it as a system (so long as it's a decent company). But in teaching yourself how to build a computer it gives you confidence in being able to fix anything yourself that later goes wrong."She is quite the oddball. Very true, can you recommend where a complete novice might start learning about this? Is it best to attend a workshop, or is it as simple as buying a 'Haynes' type manual and just cracking on? I'm distinctly nervous about attempting to bolt £700 worth of equipment together with no previous experience, although that's not to say I wouldn't give it a try. Would anyone recommend trying to build a really cheap one first and then moving on, or just dive in at the deep end?
Also, how do I determine for example what graphics card I would need? Is this a case of doing hours of desk research, or is there a relatively easy way of determining this? There must be hundreds of options out there.
I'm inspired! If someone can push me in the right direction I might give this a go.0
