Is it worth buying my insurance now? I have most of my travel in place, flights and hotels etc, but don't travel until the end of March 2015.
Cheers MS buddies.

Yes!!!!!
What would happen if you had an accident/fell ill between now and March? Everything you've paid for would be uninsured and you'd lose all the money.
You should have insurance from the day you part with your first £1.
This forum is riddled with posts by people who thought like you, that they didn't need it until they were due to travel, and have lost out on £1000's because of unforseen circumstances occurring in the interim.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Thanks for the confirmation, I had thought it wise.0

And it should run from when to when?
The period of the holiday or from the day you apply?0 -
depends on what type ur buying
single holiday - then he dates entered wou;d be he hol dates but buy now in case of accident, emergency or something happens to the hol company
Year policy - i enter from the date I have purchased the policy - as ha way I am covered for any emergency and event
For me I took a yr policy out in May this yr as it would covered the holiday abroad in May, even thou I have a hol booked for 2015, I need a new policy for those dates, - but for me i may have to cancel my hols in 2015, due to my father being diagnosed with cancer, alhough only depoists have been paid, its £800 - I lose £50 on each but thats better than losing £800.
you never know whats around the corner xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Thanks again for the replies. From a personal point of view sickness is covered by my insurance an ATOL covers companies failures?0

Or even, what happens if your flights are changed/cancelled and you can't make the days the hotel is booked for?0

Agree with all that's been said above. I know most people worry about having an accident/losing things on holiday but being taken ill beforehand is equally worth covering IMO.
If you only have one holiday a year then it may be different but, as relatively frequent travellers, we've had an annual policy for years now. Originally we had it through DH's bank account but as the charges increased over the years we now buy separately. I think these days there are good value accounts appearing that have insurance.
I'd suggest you take a look at the insurance section on this site.0 -
What insurance do you have that covers sickness??Aveleydave wrote: »Thanks again for the replies. From a personal point of view sickness is covered by my insurance an ATOL covers companies failures?0 -
All insurance covers sickness and being unable to travel, they will probably want confirmation from doctors. Isn't that one of the reasons of travel insurance?0
