My decorator arrived at long last yesterday, and I'm really pleased He is doing my kitchen, lobby and conservatory, plus the outside front of the house today as its due to be dry and sunny but wet and rainy tomorrow and Friday so he's swapped around the jobs .
So by the end of the week it will all be done indoors in a nice sunny lemon colour which is a great improvement on the tired magnolia that been up for the past 10 years. Its my treat to myself as I have been saving for it for several months .
He's a lovely young chap, and tidied up after himself yesterday before he went home. He's also local which I wanted as I like if I can to help out the local traders. My kitchen although its only the first coat looks transformed already, although the sitting room is full of kitchenalia at the momentI'm cracking on with the decluttering as much as I can. I have to book a slot with my local tip as you can't just turn up there you need to book plus take either your passport or driving license to prove who you are

saw some blackout, and thermal curtains reduced in my Local BnM this week. so along with a sturdy tension shower curtain, I can now block off the living room from the dining room in the open plan downstairs. It's a shame there were only 2 packs reduced due to damaged packages. or I would have brought at least 2 more.
Also, I was given one of those oversized hoodie knockoffs. so lovely and warm. I am wearing it to bed . I have plans to keep my eyes open for the post crimbo sales for more stuff.today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.
Living on my memories, making new ones.

How's everyone doing in this stormy weather? It hasn't been too bad up here in our bit of County Durham so far, just very windy and a bit of rain. We didn't even see much snow when the rest of the country had some.
Electricity has stayed on so far....
Hope things get back to normal soon if you're having problems right now. 🙂2025 Fashion on the ration

It's getting quite windy outside as I can hear it. I'll have a look out of the window before I turn to make sure the bins haven't gone over etc. surprisingly it's warmer outside than I thought it would be 🤔£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund7

It's been 13 degrees here today! At the moment there's a high wind and some rain, and yesterday I had to have a long detour to get to somewhere only a few miles away. It must have taken about 45 minutes, and on the way we saw so much flood water, including what looked like a small lake with an abandoned vehicle in the middle of it. I'm sure winters don't usually have so many storms. I hope the plus side is that the aquifers will fill ahead of the summer.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Glad the wind has died down a bit now. I heard the recycling bins blow over during the night and I woke up to the contents strewn all over my garden. I covered my front door keyhole with parcel tape as my door curtain kept blowing and letting cold air into the hall. I can't believe how much difference it made. Hope that's the last of the storms for the time being.5

The storm wasn't that bad where I live, although it got quite gusty again last night when I was coming home.
Today has been very mild and sunny and I did try and dry my washing outside on the line as there was still a breeze. I suddenly got chilly about 4 pm and have just put the heating on for the first time today to warm up and finish drying off the laundry.7 -
I've noticed that the nights are starting to draw in and there is a nip in the air in the mornings and in the evenings now. The leaves have started to change colour. Autumn is approaching and I haven't done much / anything in preparation yet. I've got some time off in a couple of weeks and will aim to have completed the garden tidy up and our blackberry harvesting done. I need to get a boiler service organised as well and book our autumn covid and flu jabs.8

We have started
wood chopped and ready, coal bunker topped up, need to chase the boiler service up. Blankets and coats washed, dried and ready. Still harvesting those berries and hoping they will see us through to next summer again! I will have forgotten lots of things and will rely on you all to remind me
