Cherryfudge said:Good to hear all your preparations have paid off! I hope he found a good place to park up.
It was in a kind of industrial estate in a quiet corner and he spoke to the owner of the little car park and he said he was happy to have it open as he was a keen camper as well and was always looking for good spots. Husband recommended a few places in Wales to him so I think he will be using that one often if he is ever down South (hes actually back there again on Sunday and Monday night!)
He also made himself the bed up in the back which has a removable board so we can use it as two seats or with the board it makes a sort of small double. He put a sleeping bag down which he had opened up and then brought himself a mattress topper and he said it was beyond comfortable, almost too comfy so hes happy.
We also talked about him joining a nationwide gym as well purely for using the showers/toilets etc so that he has somewhere he can go and scrub up. and use the gym if he wants to.
Currently planning a trip in it to Scotland next year for our 10 year anniversary and my 40th birthday.

On the subject of rice pudding - we just use normal white rice in the slow cooker and it turns out just fine.8

Can someone remind me of the date thing on HWBs please? Is it the Use-until, or Date-made that is marked?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

It's the year it was made - they recommend only keeping them a couple of years though I have some going strong longer than that. I exercise caution, as they say.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I think newer Hwb's have the date of manufacture imprinted on the neck of the bottle near where tthe top screws in althiugh it may need a magnifying glass to find it.This is one item I don't recommend trying to economise on. The risk of scalding from a potential leak is too high, not to mention the inconvenience of trying to deal with a sodden mattress at night in the middle of winter.11

Well yesterday I had our OHS package turn up with the three oodies for my kids and husband and it cost me £33 in total and I am not disappointed.
My daughter has a pink fleece lined one, son had a tartan print one and husband had a teddy fur fleecy one.
Husband is away at present (home tonight) but the kids tried theirs on and loved them. Both were huge and snuggly and the hood sizes are really generous. Think I might have to purchase one for myself now tbh!
Would definitely recommend and from memory they were £9 - £11 each and the £33 included postage too!Making Changes To Save My LifeCurrent weightloss - 2lbs (week 1)12 -

I have to replace two of my HWB this winter as the two I had finally perished .
This morning in Savers they had a fleece covered on for £3.99 which I thought was pretty good value I have one of those long thin ones from last year which is lovely to wrap around my waist so that with the new one for my trotters should do me fine.
Next time I'm at the shops I will buy a second one if they still have them as I do like two smaller ones plus the long one when I'm sitting watching tv. I also have a heated throw that my eldest DD bought for me which is nice I'll have to dig it out as its in my spare room I think. Anything that keeps you warm and dosen't cost a lot is welcome in my book.
Its important to stay warm in the colder weather especially if like me you are a bit long in the tooth.
I went across to Boots to buy some of their intensive eye drops , golly they have shot up in price, last time I bought some they were under a fiver now they are £10.22 ! ! ! , so I bought a smaller version for dry eyes at under £4.00 weirdly the same amount of liquid in a different shaped bottle 10 mls.
I handed my boots advantage card and the assistant said do you want to use some of your point I forgot I had some on there so it cost me nothing ,better still . I had a quick look in the Tesco metro and bought some lettuce and a cucumber but as I was walking I wasn't able to carry much so only spent a minimum amount, but have more than enough for a few days as I'm off to Dads for a few days later in the week. Not looking forward to the storm thats due but i'm OK as she lives on the top of a hill
When I come home I shall do an inventory of my cupboards and do my big winter stock up so I will be ready for all eventualities weather wise.
One of my lovely grandsons came today and weeded my front path and the patch under my front window as it was all overgrown He a smashing young man and so thoughtful bless him.
I must remember to add batteries to my winter stock up as its always when you need them in the winter for torches etc.
