Ive got about 6 washable masks and 2 on order...being a carer im commuting 8 days in one run but only 3 days the next week....thankfully have few days off now3
-
We have three - I made two using a non-woven natural-fibre cloth between, then made another using multiple layers of cotton muslin, and the latter works far better. It's only me who wears them thus far, in supermarkets, but we never ever rely on the masks. Distancing and not touching your face, you can rely on
The mask is in addition to those, not replacing them, although apparently the rest of my district's population didn't get that memo... sigh...

I know it's only July and not technically a winter prep but I've started getting the grandchildrens Christmas presents,( having talked what to get through with their parents first) just in case the economic situation becomes so much more difficult over the next few months that companies go into liquidation and things aren't available in the shops. I guess there will always be online and Amazon seem to be the source of everything I could possibly want but if I've got the presents here and waiting then at least the kids will have a good Christmas despite the changes that have happened to their lives that have turned them upside down because of the pandemic.7

@boazu, I think that's very sensible - and let's face it, nothing is likely to get much cheaper in the next six months, is it?!
I often make the Christmas presents so have to start in summer, sometimes round Easter, so I may start thinking about what to make... I quite like the idea of maybe a pamper-kit for my nieces, in their 20s - there's a way of sewing a dolly-bag so that when you loosen the drawstring it lies flat (ie a triangular base and three triangular sides, joined by triangles), and I could do little elastic loops to hold things in place - all colour-co-ordinated and pretty pastels, or maybe reds and greens, all Christmassy colours with touches of embroidery and sparkly sequins and beads?? Face cloth and cuticle-sticks and so on are cheap and easy to get, a little fancy soap-tablet wrapped up in organza, perhaps a face-pack (remember when a face-mask was something you put on in the bath?!)... hmmm....2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

The last of the wool blankets are drying after their wash. It's been tricky trying to find the correct weather window and been on the job list for far too long.8

I'm about half way through my Christmas knitting. I just need DH to go into the office for a few days so I can knit him a pair of socks. I bought the yarn from a local craft shop but can't start them until he's out of the way.6

I had a very long letter from Rheumatology department yesterday and one of the recommendations is to make your own silk inserts for your facemasks. Apparently silk is better than cotton.7

Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)
