  • absolutely not! love it with golden syrup:)
  • Might be nice with chocolate raisins in it too! bestest of all though is cooking some dried cherries in it and then popping a nut of butter in the middle and sprinkling liberally with cinnamon sugar, Scandilicious!!!
  • Ooh I love cherries, that sounds lovely Mrs L, shall try it!

I suddenly realised how close we are to the winter drawing in today!

My grandsons came home from school with a newsletter containing all the dates of their harvest festivals, half term holidays and trips to the pantomime and Christmas performances!

Flipping through my diary and jotting down the dates I realised that I had had only a very few pages left to turn to write them all down. I am three quarters of the way through my diary - eek!
:hello:  please play nicely children !

The blanket has come out of storage and is over the foot of my bed again. It was nice to wake up with warm feet this morning :rotfl:

DD wanted to put her school jumper on today as she was cold yesterday with her blazer on! Problem is she had 2, and gave one to me to put in the charity bag but she's given me the wrong one. So today I've got to dig through the binbags to find it, wash it and get it sorted for tomorrow. The stuff was meant to be picked up last Thursday and wasn't. I guess someone somewhere knew I'd be needing to find something that shouldn't have been thrown :)

ETA: Our dog was a bit chilly this morning (even to me with cold hands) so I've got his jumpers out and he's now wandering around the livingroom sporting a red and white fair isle jumper and seeming much happier protecting his toys from mean mummy lol

Got DD a new school coat and hat/gloves for winter - DS has a one which was given to us last year and was too big so will get that washed ready for him - got him hat and mits too and some winter snow type boots in the sainsbury sale reduced from £10 to £3!

Going to wash all the blankets and freshen them up, got th kids 2 fleece blankets for in the car as is freezing on a morning going to school. Must re stock the car box too - service is due in November so will get that booked in next month too.

Ave been stocking up the medicine box too as I go just a few bits at a time, same with the store cupboard, I have a list on my phone so I check off stuff as I see it when I'm out.

I love my slow cooker and this is my favourite time of year to use it as its lovely coming in on a cold wet night to a house smelling of food!,

My new electric circuit board has been tripping for the last few days and refusing to reset. I ended up switching off the double oven, the tv and home hub and internet and even the phone for a while before phoning the electrician who came round this morning.

We ended up finding cables and wires buried in the garden that the previous owner had bodged for his fishponds. He also closed off some sockets that were not doing anything and were unsafe. At one point he cut an outside cable that did not seem connected to anything - there was a flash a loud bang and his pliers melted!!!

Thank heavens no one was hurt and it was not found when family were doing work in the garden. At least now I should be able to turn all the things I need on and feel safer especially with the weather getting colder and darker.

I still need to book an eye test and get new variofocals but something else always seems to turn up to stop me making plans.

Elona that sounds terrifying.. glad it's sorted now and you're all ok, imagine if you had hit the wire with a spade or similar

Had a cosy night's sleep after putting the winter duvet back on, something I wouldn't normally do until the end of October.

Looks like Autumn is definitely here, had a foggy/misty morning here, couldn't see much further than 5 metres.

Hope you have a good day

    White?!

I've always fancied living at the back of beyond but white this time of year? I'm not made of Mar stuff, definitely not.

PS you get me don't you. Back of beyond isn't negative... My other phrase is 'Wilds of Wanny' and considering I don't know who Wanny' is, I thought it best to go with the first!
