Vodafone default affecting credit score

Hi,

I took out a rolling contract in Sep 2013 and cancelled verbally over the phone in January 2014. I did not have any correspondance from them so took that as account closed.

Having checked my credit report I have found a default from Vodafone issued in June 2014 for £92.11. I did not receive any correspondance stating I had an outstanding balance to pay or that a default warning was being applied for. Had I been aware I would have paid this straight away. I noted on the credit report that they had my address details slightly different which may be why I have not received any correspondance. They had my flat number as the door number of the street I live on if that makes sense and failed to note the flat blocks name.

I am due to pay this amount off by the end of the week when I get paid but wanted advice about getting this default removed as it is affecting my credit rating and I was in the process of applying for a mortage.

I've seen many threads relating to vodafone default removal and have following the advice of contacting Lee through his link.

My ref number is #8675887. I hope to hear from Lee soon X

so how did you get your bills?
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I agree with Chanz4 how did you recieve your bills whilst you was in contract?

Even if you was paper free I'm assume you still have viewed your bills online to notice your address was incorrect.

You also say if was aware you would have paid it, did you not pay by direct debit anyway?
