Gas warm air heating unit.
Gas warm air heating unit.
For all you mathematicians out there.
After the house has reached it's temperature of 22 degs C (cold feeling OAPs).
Heating on for 45 secs, off for 1 min 40 secs, how much gas, in a heater unit rated 25-32 kW, am I using in an hour?

If you assume that the boiler is on for about 20mins in every hour then your hourly consumption would be the boiler rating divided by 3.
I'm assuming that the boiler gives out 25kwh for an input of 32kwh (so its about 78% efficient) so you use about 10.6kw of gas to get about 8kwh of heat every hour.
However the running time will depend on how cold it is outside and the amount of insulation in the room. Once the room has attained 22degrees it should only run long enough to maintain it at 22 by balancing the heat loss.
If it's very cold outside then it will run longer than when it's not so cold.
Perhaps you should check it for several hours to see how it settles down when the room/house is up to temperature and try it on different days taking note of the outside temperatures.
Alternatively just read you gas meter every day for a few weeks to try a correlate your consumption with the outside temperatureNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
