Old heating system left in help

Hi all this is my first post :)

I bought my first home this year a Victorian end terrace and my previous owner has been a little lazy ( worrying as he was a British gas employee)

I have a older combi boiler halestad ace in my kitchen which is working fine though a little bulky but in my dining room behind the fake fireplace surround which was just screwed onto the wall is a big hole where once stood the old heating stystem? I've recently had this all plastered up. Under the stairs right at the back is a big metal pump by the looks of it still wired in there is a switch under there that turns it on there are a few metal pipes that run from this near the skirting to the fireplace in the dining room there is also a large empty metal tank in the upstairs bathroom that's been boxed in but it's totally unconnected ?

What the heck is this system that's half left in my parent have a older bàck boiler system that's the only other system I am familiar with I want to take out the pump in needed piping and boxed in piping and large water tank but all my google searches bring nothing x

Sounds like it exactly what you say. We are going to need photos to confirm it though.
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring
