tried to do balance xfer from M&S to Tesco tonight, M&S is in wifes name, but i am the sole earner these days, as happens to most couples, Tesco refused to xfer from M&S because of this, is this correct ?, Filled out application in joint names and our bank a/c is in joint names. Any idea please.

  • They're within their right to reject transferring a balance for a different person. Also, you won't have applied for a Tesco credit card in joint names, you may have added her as an additional cardholder but that's it, it's not a joint account, you're solely reliable for the debt your wife tots up and it will only show on your credit report.
Credit 'Score' - Don't buy the credit 'score' that Experian, Equifax and Noddle want to sell you. It's an arbitrary number that means nothing when it comes to applying for credit.
