    What's the site?

You've got nothing to hide by naming and shaming now Ugg have confirmed they're selling counterfeits, and it may help others who google their site when considering if they should purchase from them or not.

    hi this is the site:

***WARNING for anyone who may have not read all posts in thread, this site deals with COUNTERFEITS product DO NOT BUY from them***

    http://www.uggboots-uk.com

anyone can check on the UGG site any site they wish, this is the link UGG Australia gave me to do this:

...he is heavily relying on my guidance/help with this. He's 19 and this is his first credit card, he looks up to me as a source of information and guidance while he's learning more and more in life...

If that is the case, may I respectfully suggest you teach him how to buy online safely ;)

E.g. avoid buying from websites which gives no contact address or telephone number. (and best when these are physical/geographical in nature).
It appears the only way to contact that site is via their online web-form

Check terms too before proceeding. And when you are not provided with them, avoid.

He should start off with buying only from UK websites, ideally well known & respected ones until he learns more .
It may be difficult to establish the operating location of a website when there is no address provided, but the mention of Air Mail used for deliveries and a $20 shipping and handling cost for returned, wrongly ordered goods, is a good hint is is not within the UK.

Some more reading material for you and him.

Or better still, encourage your son to sign up to MSE, where we will be able to advise him directly on any queries he has :)

I think the credit card company 'may' be able to help if this is about fraud, UGG Australia confirms we have been victims of fraud, I have forwarded all communication to the credit card company.

I don't have the means to 'read about legislation' I would have hoped credit card purchases had some sort of protection for this kind of things? (ie victims of fraud?)

but there again, I can 'only hope', if all else fails my son has lost £107, hardly going bankrupt of course.

he was 'lulled' in a 'false sense of security' that the site was advertised on facebook

This is not classed as fraud through through the credit card's eyes as he gave the details willingly. This is a billing dispute. Their are disputes rights, such as none receipt of goods or counterfeit goods depending on the outcome. Your cc will give you advice.

we still have to see IF these goods arrive at all
OR if they get seized at customs

but thank you, waiting and we will find out eventually

Yes, if they don't arrive you can make a none receipt of goods claim

..I don't have the means to 'read about legislation' ...

If you can read this, I don't understand why you can't click on the link I gave you earlier to the appropriate legislation to which you are enquiring about.

How do you hope to help your son understand if you don't understand it, or otherwise have the means to understand it (whatever that means), yourself?

I would urge you again to get your son to sign up to this site himself if he requires any clarification.

    Bye

As your son ordered them, I think he would be considered the importer ... so lets hope for his sake they are not identified as counterfeit and seized by customs
  • This will be what the dispute forms are about so be sure to get your son to complete and return these.
