Thank you for posting an update because a friend has just told me pretty much the same story so I have agreed to help her complain. When I read your post I was a little annoyed at the attitude of the replies so when I read your outcome I was quite smug for you.
My friend was told she had to take the insurance with the mortgage and now 22 years later she has received a letter telling her that her mortgage will take longer to pay off because of the interest on the premiums. Only now have they told her she could have shopped around.
I agree with your comment about people being less money savvy in those days because we didn't have forums like this.
Any advice you can give me with the complaint would be very much appreciated.0 -
