in Credit cards
I am currently in a position where I have £5700 on a barclaycard credit card. I am paying pack around £300 each month and they seem to be adding on around £95 of interest each month. I am a complete novice when it comes to credit cards but am trying to get the right advice so I can start paying this back quickly.
What would you recommend I do?
Thanks in advance

Get a BT offer on another card if you can, so you can transfer the balance and pay less interest.
Failing that, pay as much as you can each month towards it.0 -
..and/or ring Barclaycard and ask them to reduce the interest rate for the existing balance.
A while ago they reduced mine to 9.9% (from 26.9%) for two years. No idea whether that is common or not but only took one phone call.
Edit: They didn't class it as an arrangement to pay, just a promotional offer.0 -
I would first try to get another card with a long BT/low fee offer. There are plenty out there if you look.
Failing being able to get another card do as above says and phone barclays and/or throw every spare penny you have at it to get the balance down quicker.0
