Barclaycard - confused!

Can anyone please tell me the different between my Barclaycard credit limit and my Barclaycard Budget Limit? I have a Barclaycard with a credit limit of £800, but I've just received an email telling me that I have reached my £600 budget limit. I'm a bit confused - does this mean I can only spend up to £600 and not use my full credit limit?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you set a limit via your online servicing? I think you can request an SMS when you hit a level which you can set yourself.

Thank you so much for your reply. I never set myself this and have followed Barclays' guidance to change this but it doesn't give me the option to which is really confusing.
