Ok, i've decided to go big (by my budget!)
going to get a gaming laptop
Min req's i want are 1080p, 8gb RAM, intel i5+, HDMI port, 15"+ screen.
I have found MSI GP60 2PE(Leopard)-266UK (cant link)
I do not want to go any higher in price (Can get a US Alienware but dont want a 13"")
So, anyone else know any other "gaming brands"?
MSI is the only one that has a range i can aford.
Thanks in advance

Any reason for a laptop?
Maybe check out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=959&catid=1828
Problem with laptops, is the name "laptop" is just a marketing gimmick. They're "portable computers" and should be used on a flat/solid surface, especially if they're being "pushed hard".
Basically if you buy a laptop, you get lower spec, compromised sound capabilities and compromised keyboard/controls.... All for a lot more money than a decent gaming desktop.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Laptop as i need a device i can use in my lounge.
it sounds silly but since moving in with my oher half we (imo) spend to much time in other rooms (im a gamer not interesed in TV, shes the other way around)
She's refused the PC in the lounge, which is fine. This is my way around it, and i want a semi decent laptop (currently interested in playing Dark souls 2 on laptop)0 -
Buy another TV and a next gen console - put the TVs side by side and use headphones

A high performance laptop is going to get hot after a while - just not enough room in there for air to circulate.... and its right by your warm parts.0 -
What is your budget?
MSI GP60 only have GT840m.0 -
The MSI is 830 all in. thats pretty much my top limit0

I can fully empathise will your situation, I can't stand watching 95% of the time, however I suspect like my GF yours will see even a laptop as a problem. Largely because your not available for conversation 100% of the time.
They either "dig" gaming or they see it as a childish waste of time, unlike "i'm a celebrity" and xfactor, which are of course completely valid ways to spend an afternoon :rotfl:
Fortunately I do have the excuse that i'm making money, as I run a game server with a few other people, which nets a small profit most months from user donations, which in turn pays toward my eBay/Paypal purchasing.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Pointing that out to them though you'd think they'd realise but no.... a strange hatred of gaming seems to overcome all common sense and intellect.
I say them 'loosely' obviously! My ex was into gaming and nu-metal along with a number of other extremely fun past-times which it'd be inappropriate to go into detail on. Those were the days!
@ the OP: You might aswell get an early start on the man-cave. You can always get a door-lock if things turn sour. Admittedly, that's not great relationship advice but its good to have your own space

or you can configure one on the website, just takes a while for them to build it if you dont pay for priority.
I have one from them that is over a year old slightly different spec but plays everything0
