Proof of Debt Form

Hello
77 of us were redundant on the 14th October after the company went into voluntary liquidation. We have all completed the RP1 and these have been sent to the RPO. We have now received a proof of debt form from the Insolvency Practitioner to complete. Can anyone advise what the purpose of this form is please as we were originally told that the only form we needed to complete to claim our redundancy money was the RP1.
Many thanks

It may be for expenses because they would be a claim in Liquidation, also if you earn more than the Redundancy payments office pay per week which i think is £430 now you may have a claim for money in Lieu of notice and unused holiday pay over and above the statutory limit

You have received the Proof of Debt form and no doubt a report of the meeting of creditors because you are presently a creditor of the company.

When you receive your entitlement from the National Insurance Fund they will become the creditor in your place. As the previous poster said if some areas of your claim are in excess of the statutory limits then you can claim for those in the Liquidation.

I wouldn't worry about the Proof of Debt form until your claim has been settled.
