Morning all,
will be off to see Mom in an hour or so. Its white underfoot and I'm aiming to stay upright. I need to pop into my GPs surgery on the way as they sent me a form to fill in and I need to return it. However, its all downhill and the road is so steep.
Just the usual dailies to be done but they can wait till I get back. I will get 'Youngest' to throw the vacuum downstairs before he goes out.
Sistercas, thinking of you and your family. Thinking of Little Dog too.
Lamb shanks for tea tonight.
Onwards and forwards,
have a great day all. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Good Morning everyone it's very wet here this morning and cold too I'm waiting for one man and his dog to drip back into the porch and have towels waiting to mop and down on the floor for Docky to roll himself dry on. There was a gap in the rain and He Who Knows opted not to wear waterproofs, big mistake!!! They've just arrived and although the hound is wet the other one isn't too bad!
I'm making some lentil and tomato soup for lunch, it's definatly the kind of day for hot soup and for supper this evening I've defrosted some pork, coriander and chilli sausages which I'll make meatballs from and cook in a nice sweet/sour type sauce to serve over some vegetable rice, all cold weather comfort food.
I'm having a catch up day today as having been away for 5 days the house could do with it. I did the washing as I arrived yesterday and hung it up in the utility room but it's taking its time drying and the house feels damp soi I might pop the heating on for an hour to help. He Who Knows is off to the cinema this afternoon to see the latest Benadict Cumberbatch film about Bletchley and code breaking so the hound and I will light the fire and snuggke Mmmmmm!
REDRUBY glad that little dog is home again and everything crossed that she stays well and enjoys life from now on, which means you will too!!!
Have yourselves a good day and stay in the warm if you can, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning everyone! Brr a bit chilly, frosty and foggy here. We all had an appointment at the dentist at 8.30am so had to go through rush hour traffic, which was very bad this morning. I had a scale and polish which was quite painful and has given me a headache. Then dropped the boys off at school, and I went down to the Post Office to post my niece's birthday card, a Christmas card for my SiL in Indonesia, and buy my Christmas stamps.
Today I need to put some washing in, make sweet and sour pork for dinner tomorrow (I'm working tomorrow instead of Thursday) and do some hoovering and wash the floors. And choir this evening.
Just had a delivery of some presents I ordered from M&S, I didn't receive an e-mail confirmation so thought maybe the order hadn't gone through. I am glad it did as it was using a 20% off code, and some of the items are now out of stock!0 -
Good afternoon,
It was a frosty and foggy morning to start with, but not too bad now.
Went into town and did everything I intended to do. I had made a list, but of course left it at home.
Went to Bank, bought gift card for Christmas, gift card for my sister's birthday, de-icer for the car and my hair colour. Having my hair cut on Saturday and my roots are showingDD wanted me to get a present for DGDs boyfriend, so went into N*xt for after shave. Also went to the PO for stamps, and my goodness they were busy. So really pleased that I managed to remember everything. Himself just stood there carrying the bags, but he bought coffee in M&S so can't be bad.
Have a good day everyone

Judi, I spent my whole life being frightened of my Mother. She had the most ferocious temper when we were young and all three of us suffered physical abuse. Of course it wasn't called that then.
I had some fallings out with her over the years because she was always right and I was wrong. In the end I really didn't have the energy to argue with her, and as I became older I decided life was too short. She never once told me she was proud of what I had achieved, but she told DD1 that she was proud of me.
When she was extremely ill, I decided I would retire a little earlier, so that if she could ever come home I would look after her in her own home because she lived in a bungalow. As it happened she didn't come home and I know she wanted to be with my Dad.

Candlelight thank you for your post. I thankfully have nothing to fear from Moms sharp tongue now and I have thought about bringing her 'home' to live.
However, it was like a war zone between her and my husband and the other week I only mentioned my husbands name and she curled her nose up at the mention of him. My husband, though sympathetic wouldn't take kindly to her taking residence and to be honest I don't think I could cope. I have thought about it though. Still think about it if I'm honest. My husband is a pretty demanding sort of man, my Mom would be pretty demanding. Then theres my Grandson on a Thursday who is pretty demanding too. Where would I fit in?
To be honest, I wouldn't.
Still think about it though. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
DG thanks for the heads-up re the changes in how to pay to use the Dartford Crossing; Mr LW and I would like to take a short break in Kent again at some time, so it's info we'll need.
Redruby in her twilight days, Penny-Dog used to have chicken'n'rice alternated with coley'n'rice for her dins.:o I absolutely loathed cooking the stuff, but she was worth it, bless her.
I need to pack Ted's bag, as he's being collected at 15:30 this afternoon. But Daisy the Shiba Inu will be arriving tomorrow at 10:30, so only tonight with no dog.
In a way it's good, as it'll give me a chance to get out the wax bath to do my feet and hands - I don't like to use it when we have dogs here, lest they get too beaky and stick their little noses in the hot wax.
Still doing posi-vibes for Little Dog, Molly-Dog and Docky.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi everyone, hope you are all ok.Just having a coffee and a catch up.I went into town this morning as my knee was feeling a bit better, even managed a short walk with Lyla but DS1 is about to take her out again shortly.I went to spend a doubleup voucher at MrS,and got a couple more bits for DGC.

MIA for a couple of days
Cold here as well and the stove has been going all day.
We have a nice ox heart casserole and dumplings tonight, that just needs a reheat with some dumplings, potatoes and some savoy cabbage.
I made lots of different casseroles and stews yesterday because I have so many hospital and clinic visits before Christmas, so that will not only save time and fuel, it means that I will have an easy run up to ChristmasI know that I spent all day cooking, but it is one day out of a month and it means that I can just take my time getting everything ready for Christmas.
Having a lazy day today because DD's friend and her gorgeous baby came for a visit.
Ruby (((hugs))) for little dog
Doctor in the morning and I need to ask her for some more meds
Then I will come home and do some more pressie wrapping.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
