MasterCard SecureCode problem

in Credit cards
Hope someone can help.
Just got a new M&S 0% purchase card with a nice enough credit limit. Trying to buy something online from Germany and it seems to get to the stage where it would ask for a SecureCode if i had one set up then crashes back to dealers website. I know you normally get the chance to setup the SecureCode during your first relevant purchase but that doesn't seem to be happening. Is there anyway to setup a password remotely?
Thanks

Could be buying from Germany that's the issue, there have been several threads reporting difficulties with using credit cards with German retailers. Is there anything you need that you could buy online in the UK first to check that the card is working OK?0
