Wedding insurance - where should I get it from??

Hiya,

I'm getting married next year and have already paid lots of deposits for the reception, car hire, photographer etc so I was going to get insurance just in case anything went wrong - does anyone have any suggestions of the best place to get it from?

I was going to use Confetti, but my friend is having problems with her claim after her wedding dress was damaged at the reception - apparently the dress is only covered for the ceremony itself!!

I would be grateful for any help you can give :)

Thanks!

    Thanks :)

    - does anyone else have any suggestions? Or has anyone got wedding insurance and had to make a claim, and didn't have any problems?

I have no experience of this type of insurance and haven't looked at any of these policies but I'd be surprised if any insurer covered the dress after the ceremony - imagine how many claims they would end up with for not so accidental damage to very expensive dresses which, let's face it, are more often than not worn only once......

Ecclesiastical Insurance certainly used to offer this: https://www.ecclesiastical.com - and they are very good indeed at paying up on their other insurance products in my experience.
  • Allianz Cornhill via a company called Jackson Emms do it I think.
