i dont think its got its own mcb on the consumer unit it appears the only thing that has its own breaker is the power for the fan above the shower.
I'm sure that the insurance investigator will have a right chuckle at that
12w bathroom fan = dedicated circuit
3500w oven = plugged into a spur off the main ring :rotfl:0 -
ta for your input i had no intention of using the circuit that the bathroom fan was on i was merely pointing out the only thing that seemed to have a dedicated circuit was the bathroom fanLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

Would it be stupid to connect it as you don’t know if sockets a spur, fused spur, radial etc, what actually feeds it (could be of the lighting for all you know?) If the sockets correctly wired, any derating factors, you’ve not stated size MCB, RCB; RCBO (fuse) etc etc Overwhelmingly yes?
Any decent electricians would put dedicated cooker circuit 10 mm cable ( to future proof ) you could use smaller but saving wouldn’t really be worth the limitations either send it back, get in an electrician or find the above anything else is at best uniformed guess work at worse dangerous cowboy ?0 -
How does anyone know it's a spur ? it's a single cable that's all the op has said.
OP get a qualified sparky and save yourself a fire ! writing one thing on here and getting advice is one thing - getting the job inspected properly and rectified is another and are worlds apart. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
If you're lucky it may be on its own circuit. Switch the fuses off individually to find out what its connected to. Presumably its cheaper for an electrician to check and upgrade a circuit than fit a new cable.0

That is what a spur is a single cable fed socket0 -
It could be the last socket on a radial circuit?0
-
Without tracing the cable back through the wall, the only option is to selectively switch off circuits at the Consumer Unit, and see which things go on & off at the same time as the cooker point.
If it is a single circuit, then the MCB will probably be 32A, anyway, won't it? Otherwise would need uprating.0 -
It appears that the oven is on the same rimg as the other 3 double sockets in the kitchenLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

Confirmation that it is indeed a spur off a ring - In that case you need a separate supply installing. Either that or sell your oven and get one that operates at 13A max.You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
