Can I return this?

My son bought a Turtlebeach headset from Argos on 04/05/14 and the mic stopped working at the weekend - I noticed that the black plastic has come away slightly from the wires in two places (where it goes into the control switch box and where it goes into the headphones) I'm not 100% sure that this has caused the problem as the headphones still work.
I have the receipt - can I return them?

Why not call the number on the receipt (customer service) and ask.
It should be under some form of warranty or be covered under SOGA. You may not be able to do this directly in a shop as they may ask you to send it off for inspection.
Plastic (shielding I assume?) coming away from wires could be a sign of stress (i.e. abuse)0 -
