Refund being processed back to a Credit Card that has been cancelled?

Options
What will happen and Harveys Furniture Store attempt the refund a payment to a credit card that has been cancelled/closed?

Harveys are about to refund me for a manufacturing fault on a dining room table and Chairs. This table and chairs was originally purchased using a mastercard credit card some 2 years ago. This account was closed a few months later but Harveys are saying all they can do process the refund to this account and by some sort of magic i'll get a refund via cheque they are saying.

You need to speak to the card issuers and explain what is happening. They should then refund you either by cheque or direct to your bank account.
  • Thanks g6jns issue here is I don't know which Provider it was (had a few at the same time) and Harveys are saying that they do not keep the card details.

How on earth are they planning to refund if they don't know the card details? If they/you have the 15/16-digit number, someone will be able to work out the provider.

  • Once the credit is applied, it should generate a statement from the lender.
