Advice regarding ESA payment

The first part is generally true as access to foodbanks is generally controlled by the local council, not the DWP. The second part is wrong as DWP will point people in the direction of the local council if they are unable to pay benefit.
yes they will sign post to other agencys. The council do not control access to trussel trust foodbanks they first have to be accepted as voucher holders by the foodbank0

Op you really do need to be chasing up you payments, they should of been sorted and paying out way before now. If there is a problem and maybe a letter from them has gone astray you may be sat waiting for a long time for payments that may never materialize. If you find it difficult to deal with speaking to them have you maybe a friend that you can trust to help, you make the call and after going through security you can give permission for them to help deal with it on your behalf.0

im not surprised the DWP ar dragging there heels with this sort of thing its happens to many others
make 3 copies of your tribunal award letter and send them in to the ESA department address on your last letter you got from them send them in 4 days apart to make sure they get them also if you can get someone to drop one off to your local job centre and ask them to send that onto the ESA department too (if you cant do it yourself ) once this has been done you do need to phone them and and chase them up back payments should not normally take more than 6 weeks to be issued
i know it can be hard speaking the DWP when you dont feel comfortable but its the only way you can get them to sort this issue out you can emial your local MP and give them a brief description and send them a copy of your tribunal award letter and get them to put some pressure on the DWP to sort this but your not alone here they seem to drag there heels most of the time with this sort of thing
if you feel your struggling mentally to get your GP to refer you to the CMHT (community mental health team ) if your not already with them but dont worry it will get sorted out and your not alone. any further help advice or support you need just ask there is enough of us here if you need us0

Am sure all food banks and staff do a magnificent job and all have different rules, the church one that I attended, kept your details for next time. lets hope Hanelora gets sorted quicklyrichard9991 wrote: »At our foodbank requires a new voucher for each parcel and you can only have 3 parcels in every 6 months0

Thank you ALL so much for your advice and support. I am very grateful that you have taken the time to reply to me. Following richard9991's advice i sent an email last night to my local trusseltrust centre and i have already received a reply from them. Someone is going to call me today with details of a centre that i can go to tonight.
I already have someone from "money matters" (similar to CAB) supposed to be helping me with my claim and i phoned her 3 weeks ago regarding my payments and i told her how desperate i was then but as of yet she has not called me back to tell what me happened as she said she would chase it up. I know i need to get "tough" to get things moving but i do find it hard but will do my very best today to try to get things moving.
 THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH0

I know you say you are not up to speaking to the DWP, but the only way to get an answer without going through other agencies and waiting for them to ring you back or not would be to just bite the bullet and phone them yourself or even get a friend to speak on your behalf. If you phone yourself explain to them before you get into a conversation with them that you are having health issues and would just like to know when you are getting payment. Also tell them you have no money and you need an emergency payment to enable you to get some food and heating as you are totally skint and have had no money from them since June. I know that they can wire the payment straight to your bank as I have been told by a friend that is what they did for her.0

This is what you need and or can do- You need to phone ESA, or have someone else in the room with you to phone for you.
- You need to ask DWP "Have you received my appeal win notice from tribunal?"
- If they say "no" you need to ask for an appointment at Jobcentre to have your tribunal letter faxed to them (you don't need to go to the appointment, someone else can take it for you)
- If they say "yes" ask what date it was received by them
- If it has been more than 6 weeks from that date, ask for a callback from the BC to give you an update on how long it will take.
- However, if it is a "found fit for work" appeal, it doesn't matter how long they take to process the appeal win, all you need do is get sicknotes from 2nd June 2014 and send to ESA and request to be "paid on appeal"

What did you appeal? "Fail to Attend"? or "found fit for work"?
What is the decision of the court?
If it is a "found fit for work" appeal, why have you not gone back onto ESA payments whilst you are on appeal by providing sicknotes? You should have requested ESA to re-open now that you have appealed.
This won't work on a "failed to attend" appeal.0

Hello again everyone. Just thought i would give you a little update and make my apologies first off about the long post i am about to write. Today i went to see the girl from "money matters" who was my representative in all of this from the initial form filling until my appeal (which i attended and won) i was told to use the fast track phone to speak to her and was told the usual "to leave a message and it would be passed on to her" at this point i totally broke down and was told i couldn't see her as she was with a client, this was untrue as i was there before she came to work and no one else was waiting to be seen nor did she come out to call a client in. Anyway she called me back within 5 mins (which was pretty darned quick considering she had a client) to tell me that she had called the DWP and that someone from the DWP would call me before 1 o'clock which they did and apparently they had only received my appeal win notification a few hours ago (from the MM's girl) so despite me calling the MM's girl every 2-3 weeks since september she hasn't chased anything up for me at all. I was told that the money "should" be in tomorrow but they will need to calcute it. I will have to wait and see i suppose.
I wish i had asked you all for advice sooner because i would still be sitting here wondering what was going on without your help and advice. So i do thank you all very much for taking the time for a newbie.
Unfortunately the lady from the food bank didn't get back to me today so i will see how thing sgo tomorrow before i contact them again
F.A.O epitome. Not sure if i'm understanding your question properly but i had a work capability "test" and was initially told i was fit for work, then had to go through the mandatory reconsideration, then the actual appeal hearing where the court changed the decision and found in my favour. I didn't know i had to get back in touch with ESA, i just thought it would happen automatically but i didn't even get any assesment rate benefit in that time. When you have mental health issues it is all very confusing and difficult to take in and understand unfortunately. This is where it is wrong, they leave vulnerable people in a situation who have no knowledge on how to do things for them selves so i / we rely on other people/agencies to help us and just trust that they are doing their best for us.
Thank you all again, i am very appreciative for your help.0

Good news and well done for chasing it up, the 'helpful' MM girl obviously needed a little shove to complete your case and who knows how long it would of been sat waiting if you hadn't gone to see her...Anyway regardless hopefully you should be in a better financial position by the end of the week. If you are still without food and money tomorrow chase the food bank up....maybe pay them a visit. Good luck
