Replacement with no receipt or product?

So I was driving to work this morning in light rain and the drivers side windscreen wiper came off on the motorway. Obviously I couldn't stop to get it so continued to work, thankfully only a couple of minutes away.

I bought this windscreen wiper and paid for fitting from Halfords around six months ago, however, I don't believe I have the receipt. I also don't have the faulty product as it's sat on the motorway!

Will I be able to get a replacement or am I out of luck?

If it has been 6 months since the blade was fitted I very much doubt it fell off due to being faulty. The most likely situation is that the clip was dislodged either accidentally or deliberately at some stage.

After 6 months, I would say you may just have to get a new one yourself and face it.

I do recommend getting your blades from elsewhere and fitting yourself.
I got bosch ones from ebay for £12 fitted...all three of them

Yeah, 6 months down the line with no blade and no receipt there is little they can do for you.

On a side note, these guys are a bit rubbish at 'fitting' stuff. A few weeks back I took my car to have them fit a new battery. I watched in horror as the guy almost connected the battery terminals the wrong way around! He only stopped when I pointed out "surely red and red should go together mate, not red on black?". Wish I'd done it myself now...

So I've just been to Halfords and explained the situation. They replaced the wiper no questions asked and even provided me with a new receipt. Very happy
