Windows update for XP . Error number 0x80248015

If you get error number 0x80248015 when trying to check for updates in XP you need to change the date on your computer to 16/11/2014 to gain access.

It is due to a certificate? expiring on November 17, 2014.

Remember to change clock back after.

Still get MRT and reinstalls get all previous updates.

As per dogmaryxx's tip.....if after switching the date to 16/11/2014 you change from Microsoft Update to Windows Update and then switch back to the correct date that continues to work trouble free, for me anyway.
