If I'm not subject to either then how will they know I haven't moved my gas meter.
What's the problem with having gas meter in a downstairs toilet? It's mentioned about humidity earlier on but not sure why that's a problem. I think I've seen gas meters in toilets in other people's houses before but can't be absolutely certain.
Thanks.
Yes, building control will be interested in your toilet.0 -

indeed - this is why it was driving me mental! changed the layout of the room to accommodate the meter then had to amend it further after the new surveyor appeared...This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The chap doing my work is a jobbing builder. He hasnt mentionedbuilding control to me at all. It's only reading this board made mention it. If I don't invite building control and so no one gives me building control what's the consequences?
Thanks.
Anyone gonna explain how I post a photo? Thanks.
My guy has been in touch tonight and says yes we must apply for bldg control .0 -
Google is my friend !
The person doing the work could be prosecuted and fined up to £5,000 if they don’t comply with building regulations.
Your local authority could make you pay for faulty work to be fixed.
Without approval you won’t have the certificates of compliance you may need when you want to sell your home.
My guy says we'll get bldg control just before and also he says the moving of gas meter is not essential but it makes it a bit tight in there!
He's popping back to look. Cheers everyone.0
