Hi. I'm a PS3 user and looking to get a next-gen console in the new year. I would like to discuss my frustrations with my PS3 and seek advice from you guys which has better value:
1. Connecting a USB device to the PS3 is painful. Even if my hard drive is Fat 32 it couldn't find my files. I heard about the XB1 update to allow connecting of USB devices (portable hard drives, etc.) is this true? Will the new Media Player auto detects the file e.g. mp3, mp4, etc.?
2. Media Server - Can i connect my Android phone or Mac to an Xbox One in order to stream media files such as music, videos or photos? Do i need a separate app to do that?
3. Kinect - Necessary or not? if i don't have Kinect can i still do multitasking, share via twitter or record using my controller?
4. Are there many "old" Xbox games on the XBox market (i'm not sure if that is what its called) compared to PS4? (I like those games such as side-scrolling, fighting, racing, third-person actioner.)
5. What are the main advantages of Xbox Live Gold vs Playstation Plus?
6. Gameplay - Now i think we all know gameplay (and game resolution) is better in the PS4 for some reason. But what i'm after is less glitches, smoother gameplay and less crashes. 900p at 60fps on an Xbox would be better i think than 1080p at 30fps.
7. A touch-sensitive controller with a 3.5mm headphone jack is a nice addition but heard the PS4 controller drains battery quicker than XB1. True?
8. Is the Internet Explorer similar to the PC version with full Flash & HTML5?
Would appreciate some insight and advice please. Thank you.
