Armtrac parking fine

So, I parked at Trevithick Road Carpark in Camborne, Cornwall. I literally nipped up the road to get change for the machine, and in those couple of minutes, I'd been slapped with a £100 fine by Armtrac.
The car park is a private one. I know it was probably 'wrong of me' to leave the car to get money, but I did.
However, I have two things.
1- Don't ask how, but I DO have a valid ticket for the period I was parked.
2- There were 4 signs in the car park. 3 of them said, 'Vehicles failing to display a valid ticket will be
' and then there was gaffer tape, covering up what the penalty might be. On the fourth sign, there was a small red sticker that read 'R.C.T issued @ £100'.
Would that be grounds for a dispute?
All over the internet, I read people saying 'ignore them, they'll go away', but then I read a news article saying that the main man at the company had 'taken 7 people to court and won 7 times'.
what would you advise?
what would your advice be?

Bear in mind ARMTRAC have moved to the IPC now, as far as I'm aware they are still using their old signs though as it stands.0

Hi, I'm currently dealing with Armtrac security services, you can read it on the thread "company car please advise" which I last updated 23/11/14. they recently sent me a reply and they still say their a BPA approved operator according to the letterhead , they don't mention anything about the IPC and their not on their list of members....
Oh and listen to the advice, don't divulge to much at this point to Armtrac.. follow the advice on the newbie thread....

Armtrac have not moved to the IPC but they are not playing fair with POPLA codes and also threatened to break someone's fingers:

HTHPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As per my latest blog, if your POPLA code was only valid for a few days is there any chance of emailing a copy of the letter and envelope to prankster@parking-prankster.com
The Royal Mail fraud department can then use this to find out exactly why mail is arriving late when posted in Cornwall.

It wasn't quite like that. He turned up at someone's home to post a note through the door. He then got challenged regarding his actions via a phone call, during which he issued the threat.Hi, we’ve approved your signature. It's awesome.
