Hello,
Looking for some advice. Im moving into a new build property in 4 weeks. I want my full phone,Internet and TV package through sky. Will I still need BT to install my phone line? Or will sky do that? Also can I arrange to have this done before I move in? No idea where to start?!
Thanks for any help guys

Sky will probably arrange that for you.
How quickly it can happen depends on how much of the wiring etc has been installed (by the builders and/or BT Openreach).
It might be worth checking MSE for details of any free installation offers - it appears that Sky may have one.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -

Openreach (admittedly a BT subsidiary ) will be employed to do it.
You will be effectively using BT lines though, as Sky will lease these.0 -

More correctly, the "metallic path", which is the copper cable, will be rented from Openreach (a part of BT) but the line is provided by Sky.0 -
Well the sales people at barratts said they have done 'their part' with the phone line but I need to make an appointment. Should I judt ring sky an see what they say?0

Why not - they can only say No. The problem you have is if you don't complete when expected - you expose yourself to costs for rescheduling or cancellation if anything falls through. I always wait till I have the keys.0

You may want to watch last weeks watchdog re open reach on iplayer.0

Why? I have heard it can take weeks to be connected xx0

One thing to be aware of - if its a totally new build on a "green field" site then the postcode may not yet exist on the appropriate databases -when my daughter moved into a new build 6 years ago, we couldn't place an order for a phone line for over a month after she moved in!0
