Well thank goodness for that! I nearly thought you had bought that [product that suggests it is for carpets] and compared against the expensive Morries price. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1155613/Washing-liquid-beats-costly-carpet-cleaners-researchers-claim.html

I nearly thought you'd compared against the expensive Morries price on the Cheddars too(:rotfl:). 81p is too much for me these days - I have to have an mbuy glitch.

Those "Extra Special" (according to them:)) beer battered cod too. I initially thought about the Young's Beer Batter product which has gone from £1.50 in M to £3.00:eek:. However, the Young's is Fish not Cod and is 320g rather than 450g. I assume (I'm going by weights stated online on msm which may or may not be accurate).

My Sainsbobs shop earlier gave me the BM I was expecting. I managed to increase the previous BM. I paid some points and BM back was more than the points value I paid. However, despite saying I would be, I'm still unhappy after my shop:eek::eek::mad::rotfl:. Banana wasn't small enough so ended up paying the beggars 1p real cash (too much for me:laugh:) and they are getting as bad as T nowadays in my view. Grrrr - like getting blood out of stone.

One of my 'fillers' was Basics Household Gloves at 30p. I thought, okay - price increase from earlier in the year and losing 2.4p more by not going A vs S, but a couple of my A S/P ones had split so wonder if the "Basics" ones are any better. I turns out that the reason the "Basics" packs are apparently so cheap is - well number (1) because they are not; and number (2) the Basics packs turn out to have just two gloves (i.e. one pair) in them whilst the A S/P packs are two pairs (i.e. four gloves). (I've just opened them - yeah, two gloves, barstewards:mad::mad:.) This question was raised before and I thought it was a weird question, but no.

So, there we are. Adjusted for price the Sains Basics gloves (shortchanging me by providing half of what is available elsewhere) are 60p:eek::eek::eek:. Compared to 46p elsewhere (which, at least they don't compare 30p to). Yet again, Sains Basics high quality(:p) are much more expensive. The Gloves turn out not to be a rare exception. In fact the only other item I found - some weeks ago - that was same price as elsewhere, rather than more expensive, was the Biscuits Variety pack, which they seem no longer to produce:p.

Really unhappy with them. Unhappy for other reasons too. Then again, I am trying to 'beat the system' and ensure that I pay them absolutely nothing if possible and get the goods but it is so hard, drawing it from them like that! So, back to some dental training - like drawing teeth:mad::mad::rotfl:. I can, er, (sort of) see why they seem to try to make it so difficult:rotfl:.

So, that's what they mean by "live well for less". Get less in your pack of gloves.

I'm still not finished with my drawing blood:eek:. Still some more to squeeze out of the miscreants. It'd take way much time to explain how I am shopping and what I'm getting. However, when it is all safe and done, probably in the New Year, I'll post details of all of what I got. (Unless it turns out I've paid far more than I should have done:o:o.) Like all good successes, it's not a quick thing - it's having to be done, slowly, over many weeks, to draw it steadily out of them:mad:.

I did get the Alpen pack today - missed S's expensive mbuy that would have taken more money from me - the cherry bakewell worked - that womble from a week or so ago, thanks for telling me about that!:D - but, really small packs aren't they:mad::mad: - far less than what I expected?! Grrrr...!:rotfl:

(The A S/P Gloves vs Bobs is technically a glitch, as comparing 4 pack of gloves to Sains. 2 pack - although it was better when Sains. were cheaper than what they are now.)

    Afternoon All
Is anyone else still getting the Radio Times after it should have finished. I cancelled my DD as soon as the £1 was taken, have had my 12 copies, but they are still sending it. Just received the Christmas issue. Should have stopped beginning of Dec.
Just wonder if I should ring them as don't want to get charged (is that possible)

I got the letter letting me know that the DD would be increasing. I then rang Radio Times, very short quick call, all cancelled, told me to cancel with my bank.

My bank has an online chat thing now so managed to cancel on there too all in a matter of mins. Better to be safe! :)

Final issue turned up today off to get my free Paddington book later :)

As long as the DD is cancelled then they wont be able to claim any money from your account.
Sometimes with mag subsriptions a couple of extra issues go out because I think they are prepared in advance.
I had something similar a few years back where I cancelled a subsription after 3 months but received at least one more monthly copy which I wasnt entitled to.

DDs can still go through after you cancel them

But they are easily reversed by your bank if and when it happens

Bless you nanny...that has happened to us with a dear friend of my parents who lives abroad....we received a card a few years back saying they were "not well" and then nothing for 2 years even though we still sent the card we sadly assumed that they had passed and as we were not that close in terms of their family letting us know ....and then last year a card arrived from the friend as if nothing had happened...I have to admit its a very strange feeling and I can understand the need for a brandy....sip it and reflect x

you are quite correct...although once you have cancelled the mandate you do not have an obligation to pay them. if the dd is claimed in error and paid in error then it is up to the bank to seek reimbusement for it and to reimburse the customer ...

I may take you to task a little however about the bank easily reversing the transaction....that can only be done in a short timeframe and if they miss that it can become a much more labour intensive process...
....sorry my days of working in regular payments for a large high street bank may just have re surfaced a little there...
