Evening all. How many pages to catch up on (or not as the case may be). Has there been a huge glitch today, or just loads of bilge?? TIA“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Aren't these 6 for £3
Why would you only buy 4?
2 x Batchelors Super Noodles Mild Curry (100g) £1.62 £1.00
2 x Batchelors Super Noodles Chow Mein Flavour (100g) £1.62 £1.00
Also A v M
1 x ASDA Chosen by You Broccoli & Stilton Soup (600g) £1.60 £1.39
Perhaps they don't have the "6 for £3" promotion showing in their store? My Morries clearly has mbuys on several items that aren't showing in store (you'd never know!). I tend to go round and guess - ah, that is showing just full price so it means there's an mbuy on:rotfl:.
The one I had a few weeks ago bought the 1.75L Coke. They bought two of them, at £1.85 x 2 = £3.70! Any 3 for £3:rotfl:.
That said, I bought 2x 750g Crunchy Nut Cornflakes the other week. Two for £3.14 each (=£6.28!) or any 3 for £6:rotfl: Then again I was doing a comparison vs T at £1.57 each, but they on the Coke weren't! (2 packs of Crunchy Nut was best for my APG.)
To be fair to them, I had a look at the Cokes in the store entrance - the mbuy on the shelf isn't that large and, at a quick glance, could well be missed.
I think people are just in a rush and haven't got time to check. After all, on a 'weekly' shop (actually a declining breed), people have something like 45 minutes (average length of shop - the stores time their air conditioning at the entrance to go off 45 minutes after more people enter the store, or something like that) to buy probably 45 or more items. Just 60 seconds per item. And doesn't count the time taken to move around the store. I think people just chuck items in their trolley/basket and hope for the best. I used to do exactly this several years ago:eek:. I didn't bother looking at prices - Heinz soup could be on £2 one week, £3.70 the next. We paid it, whatever price it was. If certain items were on £1 r'back, I'd buy them - and not buy them if they were £1.98, apart from those specific items it was just what we'd run out of by the time we shopped.
The Finish this morning was too new an "offer", so did not have the 2 for £12 on it. You would never have known from the SEL. It wasn't - but if that had been an any 3 for... offer - it could have been people picked up two at full price (just because they 'needed' that many) and didn't know of the cheaper offer. (May or may not actually be cheaper on the APG of course:D - or even in relation to other cheaper (either in their own right or versus one competitor or another) sizes that could have been bought instead.)
I'm not sure whether you were looking for an answer, but you got one anyway - detailed and full, as ever!0 -

Taylors Select Reserve Port @Co-op £7.25
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/taylors-select-reserve-port-co-op-2080374
I wondered if it was one litre. Answer: no, apparently not: page says 75cl. So - Dow's Renown Port 75cl at M was, still, is £6.99.
Cockburns Special Reserve Port 1L at £8.99 which, per 75cl, is cheaper than the Dow's price. Works out at just over £6.74 / 75cl. So, if you want a little more, the better price on volume is the Cockburns in Morries. Except Northern Ireland. I found no stock, as I mentioned earlier, in Morries today - maybe T PP vs M (I hope that works given how often I've mentioned it:o:o). No guarantees, watch it fail!:rotfl:
Unless there is something special about the Taylors Select or that it is better in any other way.
It's quite a good price, although not as good as the Dow's Renown in M or, better, the Cockburns Special Reserve.0 -
Just had a quick catchup and realized it is way past my bedtime:eek:so will say Night night:A0
