Good evening, I have a different recipe,
tin of evaporated milk (most of the tin never really measured it)
half pack of butter (real butter only)
2lb sugar (not a whole bag at 1kg)

melt it all and bring to boil, simmer until a darker shade and sets on a cold saucer, as has been ssaid the beating at the end is very important, and remember it may take a few trys to get it right:)

I know there's so many recipes out there Izzy. I've seen stuff made with just milk, some with evaporated milk, some with cream in, some with condensed milk and water......
You are right it doesn't always go right.
One thing is constant though.....the sugar content :D :rotfl::rotfl:

Well after doing a search on sains site for the elusive badoit rouge and having no success, thought I would put in a york postcode and lo and behold they have badoit rouge. So Im convinced the badoit rouge can only be found north of watford unless any southerners know better :D
    Gocat,
When I checked the S website, it does not show the badoit rouge, even with my postcode entered, so I called my local S and asked if they stocked it and if so did they have any. Was told they had 10 bottles, so went and got 6 this morning. Shame they were 2 bottles short for DH's account....will try again in a few days
Have you called your local stores?
Sorry meant to say, I am in Kent

Best to use the condensed milk and cream to use with Irish whisky and make baileys instead.

Well what a day, black friday, just didnt happen here, struggled to get dressed today, the headache was awful.
Managed to complete the 16 boxes on Groupon though, and with 3 back ups.
And didnt get held up in any queues :-)
I did fall foul of the buying mania on Amazon (to my shame) Im sure at some point as a granny of 4, all of whom sleep in beds now, can you see im havering now, trying not to admit that I got a really good deal on a .........................................................travel cot!!!!!!!!
The Insurance from the other side came through well today, they are going to repair my car in a garage im happier with, hire car to the same or better spec than mine (put off till next week till I can actually drive) and a nice payment into my account as an interm payment for pain and suffering.
Edit, Tablet making is a must here, I used to make a living when the kids were small by making tablet and fudge and selling it through local shops.
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.
