reports and PPRing are way beyond my remit, sorry. I have no involvement whatsoever in that side of things, it's all done by the Forum Team.

    Evening elite :)
I've popped on while I'm at work for a bit of an elite hug :( I'm writing this while blubbing and balling my eyes out :(
I've just had my head bitten off by a colleague who after asking if they were alright (a rather short 'yes I'm fine was the reply') I asked if they were sure they were alright'. I got my head bitten off because apparently they didn't like being interrogated as soon as they'd walked in the door.

I'll point out now that my personality at work, I usually try to be as bright and happy as possible, I chat to everybody and say hello to as many people as I can (even the miserable ones), if you think of what a Tigger is usually like that's me for most of the working day :D

I've no idea what's going on in this persons life, they're usually generally grumpy and I had a run in with them a few weeks ago when they told me not to talk to them for the first part of the shift (not really that easy!)
I just feel I can't work with this person any more.
I'm meant to pass over a list of everything I've done and everything that needs doing when they walk in the door but that's virtually impossible.
We're meant to work as a team but I'm beginning to get sick of clearing up the mess other people don't bother finishing or don't do because they can't/don't want to.

They may have stuff going on at home, I do too! I had very little sleep over night as one of my children was waking up screaming (last time I looked at the clock was 1am) I've had a child throwing up all morning to worry about. I have a million other things going on at the moment and I know I'm generally run down (DH kept asking me if I has alright as I was unusually quiet) I acknowledged to DH earlier that I'm not myself at the moment.
But work pay (not a massive amount) me to do a job so that's why I slap a smile on my face and do it.

(Yes I know most of my work rant probably describes every workplace that exists, at least I know I'm not alone :D )

Thank you for listening to me :) I feel a heck of a lot better :)
I'm still blubbing but I'm smiling!

    Sending hugs. :grouphug:

    *sigh*

I try not to post on this subject as it can bring the thread down and goes against the principle of dftt which I support, but ....

Fairclaire, very very sad that you are the next target for the troll. It feels personal, it is incredibly frustrating and it is grossly unfair. This has been plaguing the thread for years and we have lost some very very good people as a result. PPRs, bans - troll wins. Wont mention any names of pprd folk here as one of our number will immediately report the post and get it removed (which may happen anyway). Folk just leaving or not posting because (understandably) they have had enough - troll wins. Or people change their posting style - troll wins. Number of reports going to the forum team increases significantly - troll wins. Someone said the other day that they didnt understand why peeps lurk/don't log in - I totally understand.

Troll's long term aim seems to be to get the thread closed down. No idea why, simply cannot comprehend it, but they are prepared to spend A LOT of time and effort trying to achieve it.

MSE forum team works on the basis that they have limited resources and that those they have will be focused on core site activity, ie moneysaving - can't really argue with that. Dealing with forum reports and spats takes up a lot of time and if it becomes disproportionate, they don't have time/resource to look at the reasons behind it, they will simply remove the poster at the source the trouble or close the thread down. This is clearly stated in their rules, the troll is very aware of how the system works, and we have had this quoted to us by mse towers on a number of occasions. I am pretty sure this is all outside RF's remit.

I can't suggest to anyone being targeted how to respond - there is no good solution. But a seemingly impossible balance needs to be found between meeting ones own personal needs/agenda, being mindful of the needs of our whole community, and respecting the platform we use and the rules under which it is made available to us. I have been stalked for some time now and chose to change my posting style to minimise forum reports - troll wins. As you are sadly aware, the troll will take this off forum into RL, so I now also choose to post as little as possible about my personal life and am very very careful about who has access to what information in RL - troll wins. I totally take my hat off to a couple of other long standing posters who I know have worked towards a much better balance than me.

Best results seem to be achieved by working with the Forum Team and following their advice, however unjust and unfair it all may seem.

We have been filling recent threads with a disproportionate number of posts on this subject - troll wins . The overarching message is Do Not Feed the Troll.

    Sorry for the long post

Fairclaire, I hope you find a good route through - if anyone can, you can. Please if possible avoid incurring PPR - you need this thread and the thread needs you.

Redfox, whilst I am not the person doing the reporting I would ask you to please consider that not everyone agrees with the above post. This thread is basically for glitches and helping people save money whilst shopping. It really doesn't help to have to wade through long boring self-interested mnologues and meaningless drivel. I personally must thank you for removing said posts.
