    If you have completed the above; download and save this file.
    Once saved, un-zip the contents. There will then be be three files within a folder.
    Drag the three files(not the folder) on to the newly created Bootable USB drive.

    Let me know when that is done.

    Ok, now you are going to plug the USB drive into the DELL and to boot on to it.
    Instructions here
    Once you have booted on to it and you get to Command Prompt(blinking cursor), type:flash and then hit the ENTER key. Let it's do it thing and when complete, reboot.

    Let me know when that is done.

    I feel really stupid now because I've been doing all this on the DELL PC!

    Will I have to start all over again on another computer?

    No, that's fine.

    Just reboot and choose to boot from the USB flash drive as per the instructions.

    You have just updated your machine. Now you just need a standard DELL Windows 7 re-installation disc for £4.99 in order to install Windows 7 to your machine.
