hiya - looking for a bit of advice really.

I am changing my car and planned to do so this wk or next, however people have suggested i should wait til Aug as showrooms etc will be reducing their stock to make way for the new 57 reg?

I have about £7,500 - £8,000 to spend and am looking for either an Astra or a Megane - obviously the younger the better with as few miles as possible :T

So should i wait? Would i pick up a better bargain if i did wait or should I just find something i like and buy now?

I'm ike a kid and want a new car now but if there are better bargains to be found i could wait a few wks

Any advise or thoughts would be really helpful

Thanks x

Buying in August will not really help you. Garages dont carry stock of 57 plate cars in anticipation - they will have ordered them for customers. A Plate change at a dealers usually means that they are likley to have hit their target for the month due to the increased business, and so in turn will not really be that interested in your business, however, come september when all those cars that were part exed for new ones come in then the dealers will have more stock, and be more willing to do a deal IMO

Forget the Astra and Megane. Test drive and buy a Focus and not worry about the problems with the french and the poor plastic build of the Vauxhall
