Windows 8.1 & Printer Epsom SX20

Since I got this new lap top my printer will not function.


It's an Epsom SX20. I have used the same methods as I did with my last laptop but I'm unsure if it is compatible with Windows 8.1.


Each time I attempt to print a document a programme interferes which is called One note and one drive. My documents seem to be now governed by this programme and I aint a single clue as to disable them. Help please.


Before all I did was open a document, click on print and hey presto, a print out.

Yup I had this problem wanted to print an email and only those two options came up are you using outlook for email? because if you go to bottom of screen and click on more > print.. it should give you the option to add printer make sure your printer is on so it can find it ...Also if I want to print a document from say word I find I have to save it to my documents first and then right click and choose print option from there. My printer ran out of ink and it was saying computer could not recognise? but once I put in a new original HP cartridge every thing was fine again. Not sure but think you can uninstall one note and one drive from tiles in Windows 8.1 if you don't want them using start ? I am new to Windows 8.1 too hope someone who is more clued up can help you? . BTW make sure your printer is set as the default printer not One note or One drive.

You need to ake sure the Epson is installed and identified as the default printer.
One note will be the default 'printer' if no other is set up.
